WHY ICE SHOULD BE PART OF YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

WHY ICE SHOULD BE PART OF YOUR SKINCARE ROUTINE

When it comes to getting the best glow out of your skin, ice may be the just what the Esthetician ordered! It not only calms redness, but it helps to increase blood circulation, minimize pores, and soothe inflammation for clear, radiant skin.

GET YOUR GLOW ON

Because ice improves circulation, it gives your skin a healthy looking glow. Try wrapping a few cubes in a handkerchief and rubbing them across your face for a few minutes each morning. If you really want to get fancy, make brewed green tea or milk ice cubes and use those in place of plain water.

Another cute little trick is to put ice on your face after applying your favorite face oil or serum. The ice will create a pulling effect by restricting capillaries, which help the ingredients to better penetrate the skin.

CONTOUR THOSE CHEEKS

Already big in Japan, face sculpting is fast becoming part of a growing global beauty trend. Treatments at a salon can cost you a pretty penny, so to save yourself some cash, you can do it at home. Rub a frozen milk cube from the center of the chin along the jawline to the earlobe, then upward towards the highs of the cheekbones, under eye region, and across the forehead. Repeat the massage for 5 minutes to get the firming, contouring effect. Voila! Instant face lift!

PUT THE FREEZE ON BREAKOUTS

This trick works for break outs, but if you struggle with redness or rosacea, experts caution against applying anything that’s too hot or cold to the face.

So, what you do is alternately apply on the affected area, between ice and a warm compress for about 6 cycles. This will stimulate circulation and encourage your immune system to help clear out blemishes and cysts. This works best as a spot treatment.

SAY GOODBYE TO EYE BAGS

Freeze up some iced coffee cubes, as the caffeine’s constrictive properties help with swelling. Wrap the cubes in gauze and rub them underneath the eye. The drainage of excess fluid will dramatically improve the appearance of tired-looking under-eyes.
